The Origin of the Charkram

I know that this thread has surfaced on the 'verse numerous times, but I was just reading the 'Ramayana' for one of my text classes, and in the beginning of the story, the chakram is mentioned as a weapon of the god, "Narayana, the Lord Vishnu, the Soul of the Universe." anyway, I know that there are some xenites here who like "primary" sources (even if they are from translations), and this is one of 'em.

I also thought that this was especially pertinent in light of the upcoming india episodes. For those of you who don't know what the 'Ramayana' is, (and I didn't until 3 weeks ago), its an Indian epic, on the level of the Iliad, but in the Indian tradition. HIGHLY reccomended by me as good supplimentary holiday reading while waiting for new episodes!
